Vintage Gunne Sax Sundress & Bolero Jacket

This one was just to good to let get by. From the velvet accented bodice to the long, flowing skirt with hidden pockets, it is a wonderful sight. Not only that, the bolero jacket is it's match with a lapel of the same rosy copper velvet. as with the typical Boho or prairie style Gunne's, the fabric is acotton blend of darkblue with a floral pattern.the identifier is a contrasting fabric in floral and stripes. This is a Gorgeous pice and be careful because it fits Me. The bust is 34", empire waist 27", hips-free and length 59". the jacket has 24" long sleeves, 35 1/2" at the bust, 16" in length and the bottom totals 33".

I pride myself on having some of the best Gunne's on the web. This one has no signs of wear and the colors are true. I hope that you enjoy it!

Vintage Gunne Sax Dress Sequins and Taffeta

This is an absolutely Magnificent dress by Gunne Sax. Crisp, mulberry colored taffeta and sequins are combined for this tremendous fashion composition. As a Rule, I usually don't go into a lot of the Gunne Sax dresses that were made in the 80s but, this is a definite exception. It's truly meant for a Modern Day Princess. Check out these pics. If you want to see more, go to www.zibbet.com/artemis53 I also have this gown in a size 14 that is new with tags. Shoot me an email on the Zibbet site and I can give you more info.

Vintage Gunne Sax Prom Dress Taffeta and Sequins

Here we go again but into the 1980s. This was an Era of Excesses. Their was a Rising Affluence in the Baby Boomers and Mini-Mansions were springing up. The 'Dot Com' boom was starting to take root and everything needed to be either bigger or pricier.

All of these things were reflected in the Fashion. 'Big Hair' was teamed up with Big skirts and many so-called Hippies made a transition into Yuppies. 'Extreme' was a word that was embraced. dresses couldn't get enough sequins and beads and Logos were Born and nurtured. This dress has those features with the full skirt, sequins and wide shawl collar with a bowed rosette. The only vestiges of the 70's simplicity of style was in the country where many had moved to 'grow there own' and have wide open spaces. The city's were lit with ligts, beads and sequins.

Vintage Gunne Sax Dress Boho Style 1970s

Have a New one! This really brought me back. As I was photographing it I could feel the scarf tied around my forehead, the hemp and bead jewelry around my neck and wrists, the boots navigating the uneven ground and the shawl just in case the thermometer dropped drastically. I was walking across campus grounds and the first chill of the Fall was setting in. The skies were a deep blue with brilliant and clear white clouds. A suede, fringed purse was slung across my shoulder and I could smell leaves burning. It was an Early Friday Evening and each dormroom widow emitted Music from Cat Stevens to Allman Brothers. It was the weekend and Beckwith and I were meeting to go to a Party. I was Young, I was Free and I was Liberated. I Glowed.

This was the type of dress I was wearing. Usually I would be in jeans with a Black Leotard and Flannel Shirt. This Time it would be more Formal. There was a Band playing at one of the Dorms and necessitated a clothing upgrade. The two of us met up, trekked the hill to Tri- Towers and made our entrance. We were Stunning.

Vintage Gunne Sax Style Sundress by Candi Jones

One more time we're in those Last days of Summer and trying to squeeze out all of the beauty and warmth from them Before you know it, Fall will be here but, Today is Today, So make the Most of it.

This is a teriffic Gunne Sax Style Prairie Sundress by Candi Jones. This company was a Major competitor with Gunne Sax during the 1970s and had very similar styling. This one is a Lemon yellow with lace, pintucking and embroidered roses on the bodice. It's the perfect piece for walking the beach or dangling your bare feet in the creek. I'm definitely pleased with it!

Vintage Gunne Sax Dress for your Wedding Mc Clintock

Today I have a lovely, Vintage Gunne Sax dress for the Intimate Garden wedding. This dress is from the Scott McClintock Division that was a part of the Gunne Sax line in the 80s

The dress is an ecru sateen with a floral lace overlay. It is in a 'drop waist' style accented with a heavy cotton lace to divide the top from the skirting.

As with all Gunne's, the Bodice steals the show. Heavy, glistening embroidery accentuates the front from the neckline to the waist. Sprinkled upon this feature are tiny, golden to opalescent sequins to give a hint of Sparkle. Yes. This is a Beautiful dress. It is marked a Vintage 8 and has more generous proportions than the gowns of the 70's. I will be posting this on my Zibbet site that can be accesses on the right hand side of the screen. The url is-www.zibbet.com/artemis53. I have everything from Black label Gunnes to the Prom dresses of the 80's. Check it Out. I'M HAVING A SALE!!!!!

Zibbet and Weddings

I'v just come back to this page and have some REAL catching up to do. It has been brought to my attention that I am 'Slacking' in this department. That being said, I need to catch You up!

I have a new site for my Vintage clothing and jewelry. It's Zibbet and my site is www.zibbet.com/artemis53. I still sell from Etsy but this is a brand new site with, art, craft and vintage. Many of the Sellers have sites on Etsy or Artfire and are spreading their wings such as I. I'm even bringing wedding gowns onto the site with shipping at only $10.00. A lot of things pop up on my Facebook Fanpage http://http//www.facebook.com/home.php#!/pages/artemis53/111618867421?ref=sgm

so, you can check that out too! here are 2 of my dresses. Don't even think about the green Gingham. I have a Summer to play around in that Black label gunne. The peach one is absolutely ethereal. Let's hear a Song! Amie seems right for the Summer. It makes me think of Vans ;)

I'v had the Time of My Life

I would've never known so many, many years ago where I would be taken. I had always dreamed of having a Daughter and was Blessed with Sons. That plan was a much better Choice. Going through the angst of a divorce 17 years ago, I cried and worried that I'd never be self sufficient. I am...a much better plan than I expected, To live each day as if it were your last was foreign to me and I wasted a lot of precious time. I'v now evolved into a Person that squeezes each second out of every hour and can sit at the end of the day and name one accomplishment (even if it's shredding the mail or taking out 1 garbage bag full of unnecessary junk)
I no longer want to be Chief. Indian suits me just fine and gives me the luxury of time. Who knows. I may have many more Magic summers to come.http://http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WpmILPAcRQo

I'v had the Time of My life

Joy seems to be always wrapped in a package weather the wrapping is in the form of paper or as a Person.
I always loved Patricvk Swayze and wouldn'y want Him to be forgotten. Yes. He was sizzling Hot but who didn't want to move and Dance as that lump was filling up in your throat from "Dirty Dancing". Remember This!

Dazed and Confused

Okay. Leta has nominated me which means that I have to start on this bedeviling Monster. I'm sure that Blogging isn't hard but I was brought up with papers and pencils, even having My Grandmother as a 'Penpal' once. I protect my digital camera with my life as soon as I learn to use it and include it in My daily prayers for constant restoration so that I don't have to learn my dreaded, Olympus 12 megapixel that sneers at me daily across the table. Imake daily affirmations to myself in this 'Cyberworld' hoping not to be spun off of this planet and limited to 'dialing' a phone.
Okay. I'll start posting again. At least I have a Facebook Fanpage- www.facebook.com/home.php#!/pages/artemis53/111618867421?=sgm
