A Military Mother's Prayer

Dear Lord,
I really don't wish to bother You much But, you told Me to come to You with all of my worries and the burdens that lay heavy on my heart. I'v been searching in other places for the answers which has led Me right back to You and I'm grateful that You steered me in the right direction. My words won't be awe inspiring or even fancy. They'll just be a simple Prayer about a lot of Us Mother's are going through now. I'm setting this down for My Son.
In four Days he'll be leaving to take part in battle in a far away land over something He never had anything to do with. I know that it doesn't make sense But, You've taught me that not everything does. It doesn't take the hurt or worry away to know this, only You can. With that in mind, I lay this at Your feet to carry for I don't have the strength to do it alone. I continue to see Him as a little Child who gave Me such delight and taught Me how to love without the strings that are attached to so many things. He was a wonder to behold and filled my heart to brimming with Joy and I still see Him that way. I guess that's what being a Mother is about and I'm thankful to have known this.
I merely ask that You protect Him and all of the other Children as we Mother's protected them as Little One's. Hold Their hands as We once did through crowds or street corners and Pick Them up when their little legs are too tired to walk. Wrap Your arms around Them when they're scared and watch over Them when they sleep. Hold Them closely and whisper in their ears that They're not alone and You'll be right there for Them.
If this is too much to ask, please forgive Me But, I'm only doing this for My little Boy. I don't think that it should be too difficult for You. After all, You've been doing the same thing for Me all of My Life. Amen.
